Eskaya Honeymoon Day 4 - August 24, 2008

Pao and I decided to have a very heavy breakfast as it was our last meal on the last day of our honeymoon at Eskaya Resort and Spa, Bohol. We started to eat our fill at 9:30am and finished till around 11am. Yup, that should last us until merienda. Pao took a last swim in the infinity pool while I stayed at our table reading the local newspaper. After four days I was curious to find out what has happened to the world.

Back in our balai we took the opportunity to have a final dip in the jacuzzi and we filled it up with bubbles. Ahhhh Eskayahhhhh.

We were able to arrange for a late check out as our flight was set at 5pm. We said goodbye to our gracious hosts and we were whisked away in the cool Toyota Grandia.

What is a vacation without pasalubong? Our Manong Driver accommodated our request of going to the nearby Bohol Bee Farm to buy their honey, local delicacies, muffins and chocolate hills (chocolate truffles shaped like their famous landmark). Next stop was near the pier where we got the mandatory Peanut Kisses at a really low price which was good because we were buying a lot. Last stop was a souvenir shop where Pao and I got each other a shirt that says "Bohol". Perfect.

Our flight back to Manila was beautifully uneventful until we actually reached Manila's skies. The captain announced that we were 10th on the list of planes to land on a particular airstrip. It's not like you can park a plane mid-air while you wait your turn to land so the captain took us on a tour of southern and central Luzon. I was seated by the window and Pao was only interested in sleep. In the span of 10 minutes I saw Tagaytay, Mt.Makiling, the coasts of Cavite, the expanse of Manila Bay, the tadpole shaped Corregidor Island, nearby Bataan, Pampangga and Bulacan. It was like viewing Google Earth but LIVE!!!

Minutes later we were descending over Cavite and Paranaque, landed and taxied our way past the newly opened NAIA3. Home sweet home in humid Manila. We got our bags and made our way to the arrivals driveway. Pao walked to the parking lot to get the Jazz while I stayed to watch our stuff. Php 50 per day of overnight parking was such a convenience.

We drove to my parents house to have dinner with them and distribute out pasalubongs. Next stop was my cousin's house in the same village for more pasalubong before calling it a day at our home in Makati.

Home. We were truly home after our wedding and honeymoon. We thank God for our blessed wedding, our new life together, a wonderful experience in Bohol and the adventurous marriage ahead of us. We thank also our friends and family who, with their love and support, have enriched our lives and inspired us to love each other well. Thank you and God bless.
