that could go 454+ KM in a tank of gas, city driving with traffic and skyway harurot had just finished two week's worth of Caltex Silver last Friday afternoon. Perfect timing as gas prices were scheduled to go up again P1.50 that midnight.
I changed my driving style for this tank, taking a much light-footed approach. Where and when I could, I'd lift my foot off the gas pedal and drive by momentum, braking only when needed. If I brake that means I'd have to accelerate again and stop-and-go driving is not so fuel efficient.
It also helps that I leave the house after the morning rush hour and that I'm on my way home at 10pm, well after the evening Makati exodus.
As I've mentioned in my Pownce blog, I'm going to check out Shell's E10 (10% Ethanol) fuel and see if that would give me more kilometers per liter.
So there I was falling in line at the Shell near the office to get my full tank of E10. O-M-G! For the first time, my gasoline bill breached the P2,000 mark. It made me cry out to heaven for divine provision for the next coming weeks as it has been reported that prices will increase weekly until it reaches P65/Liter.
And then I snapped out of it. Why should gas prices dictate the way I live? I had to remind myself that I should live by faith and not by sight, that I should live on God's economy, that the basis of my peace is what God says in His Word and not what oil companies or the stocks or the forex tells me.
I thank God for my small, agile and fuel-efficient car.

Don't count on E10 to give you more mileage though. Ethanol is less fuel efficient by than petrol, pero since 10% ethanol lang yung E10, I don't think your mileage will go down noticeably.
