75 days to go or 2.5 months left before our big day. So many things have happened and so many things are still in our to do list. Here's what needs to happen this June:
- Get shoes
Three weeks ago we ordered our custom made shoes from Roweliza's Shoes and Bags. We'll be picking them up on Saturday, June 7.
- 2nd fitting
I need to fit into my gown this June 10 for the 2nd fitting. The 1st fitting was a katcha mock-up of the lining just to get my proportion. This time around it will be the actual lining of the dress. To keep an element of surprise for Pao, it will be my mom who will go with me to Patis' studio in San Juan. - Get all the Principal Sponsors
We haven't approached all our intended ninongs and ninangs yet. There are 3 out of 12 who we have to ask for the honor of being our wedding godparents. Thank God we were able to approach 2 last weekend. Pao will take care of setting up meetings with these 3. - Have all the dresses done
Ines Juni of Uno Arte have already taken all the bridesmaids' and flowergirls' measurements. We hope to have all the fittings done by mid month and the dresses done by the end of the month.
As for the moms, I'll be taking them to Tesoros on the day we pick up our shoes in Marikina. They'll be picking out embroidered Filipinana dresses and have them altered to show their petite figures. - Cake confirmation
We've discussed with Vienna Cakes the design we wanted for our wedding cake. They just have to come back to us with a sketch and give Sofitel their quote so we can sign-off on the design. - Sofitel food tasting, table setting mock-up, ballroom check & progress payment
When we go back to meet Jun Mercado, event manager of Sofitel, we'll be spending an afternoon going over lots of details for the wedding.
We'll have our food tasting at Spiral, then go up to the ballroom to see how they'll set our tables with a mock-up flower centerpiece from Flowers & Foliage. We'll also be checking for its size, setup & sound system.
Then we'll be taking a look at the back-up function room where we'll have a ceremony just in case it rains.
When everything's ok, Pao will hand over the 50% progress payment. :) - Invitation finalization, printing and distribution
Since we haven't completed the Principal Sponsors we really couldn't finalize the invitation. We already have a printer, the downpayment has been made, Paolo has done the design but we're just waiting for the completion of the content. As soon as that's done, it'll be rushed to our supplier for printing then hopefully we get to distribute them right away. That way we get to start on the RSVP list. - Finalize music choices
I've gone through the ceremony script. Now comes the challenging part of picking music and songs that go with our Filipiana theme. Will be digging up classic kundimans and Tagalog songs for this. - Trial hair and make-up & prenup pictorial
I hope to shed more pounds and inches towards the latter half of June as my figure will be immortalized in our prenup pictures. We'll have our pictures taken in Casa San Pablo and Kusina Salud, both in Laguna to keep to our Filipinana theme. This will have to happen on a weekday where my make-up artist and photographer are free for an nice out-of-town drive. I'm looking forward to experience Mitch Leyba and Mel Cortez' bridal work first hand. - Marriage license
This is the month when we have to do all the government requirements to get our marriage license. Of course this entails getting a certified true copy of our birth certificates from NSO and a Certificate of Non-Marriage. The marriage license is only valid for 120 days so June is the perfect month to get it.
