Kudos to you Kuya Benjie

Kuya Benjie is our eldest cousin in the Cabral side of the Family. My cousins and I look up to Kuya Benj in all sense of the phrase – tallest among us cousins, in our eyes he was the gentle giant who loves to laugh have fun. Most importantly, we have a high regard for Kuya Benj because of how we see him live his life.

Kuya Benjie is the “leader” among us cousins. John Maxwell defines leadership as “Influence” and indeed, Kuya Benjie has influenced us cousins greatly.

Throughout the years, as we all go through our own milestones, rejoicing in each others triumphs and empathizing with each others pains, Kuya Benj taught us cousins valuable life lessons without having need to preach it to us – he simply lived it, exemplified it, imparted it.

Here are 3 life lessons learned growing up with Kuya Benjie:

First is HONORING PARENTS

Kuya Benjie showed us how to respect our parents, titos and titas. During the many reunions and visits we’ve had, we witnessed how Kuya Benj listened to the advice and wisdom of his parents. I also cannot recall a time when Kuya Benj spoke ill of Mommy Irms or Daddy Ben. His words always honored his parents.

Secondly is EXCELLENCE

Growing up we saw Kuya being the best at what he was doing. There were trophies for tennis, diplomas on the wall and a picture of him with an award. It was inspiring to see and it opened our eyes that we too can achieve what he did if we worked hard for it and had the passion for it.

Third and lastly is ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Kuya’s involvement in business showed us the value of contributing to a community. Kuya’s Thousand Oaks business goes beyond than just supplying a demand. That taught us cousins how to use our own careers and businesses in contributing to society’s greater good.

In closing, Kuya I honor you. God says clearly in His Word, “Honor your Father and Mother so you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” Kuya Benjie, I believe you will indeed live long and well in the land God has given you. God has blessed your with a spirit of excellence that brings glory and honor to Him. You have shown yourself to be a good and faithful servant with what has been entrusted to you – your family, your business, your ministry – the Lord is pleased to give you more because he has given you the spirit of entrepreneurship – the ability to produce wealth, to create jobs. Kuya, you are a channel of God’s blessings to others. May He surround you with His presence and favor always. May he also give you a hundred-fold return of what you give out. God bless you Kuya Benjie!
