Working Out With a Carpenter

Working out without a trainer is tough. It takes personal commitment, discipline and self control to push myself to finish sets with the appropriate weight, pacing and breathing.

I thank God for Kaye, my personal trainer. She checks my form, tells me I can do more and reminds me that my goal is to increase endurance, lower my body fat from 31.6% to somewhere in the 20's, increase muscle tone and flatten my abs. God bless her and give her rest during her Saturday day-off.

This morning I had to motivate myself. I'd say out loud, "Inns, kaya mo yan.

"C'mon! Last five!

"Let's do this!"

Then I'd feel the muscle burn, "Lord! Help me! ARAY!!!" *whimper*

"Lord Jesus," I prayed, "send me naman an angel to help me out o. Please?"

I heard my Lord laugh in amusement. "Wag na angel, ako nalang," He says. "Besides, angels don't know how to lift weights - I do. Remember, I was a carpenter for years. I had to lift heavy boards and lumber when we built things."

Sya nga naman. :) Thank God for Jesus our Savior who became man. He sympathizes and understands what we are going through because He went through them Himself. (Hebrews 4:15-16)

So, ayun. Super motivated ako kanina to do my workout knowing I'm was not alone - He was there assuring me that He'll help me finish my workout and finish it strong.

Sarap. :)
