One thing worse than having a dirty car is parking it in a lot full of sparkling clean cars. Good thing that wasn't the case this afternoon when I parked in the lower ground level of Festival Supermall. (I fondly call that last parking level "lowest ground.") There were a couple of other cars dirtier than mine. I always find some sense of comfort in that kind of observation.
Manila has been experiencing intermittent rain showers over the past couple of days. Add that fact to various trips to Makati and a trip to Tagaytay and you get a grimy, dusty, muddy car.
My cyclone blue 1997 Honda Civic Lxi now looks a bit grayish. I'm still vacillating whether to wake up early on a holiday to wash my car or spend some money in getting a good car wash in a nearby garage shop while I hit the gym for two hours.
Funny thing is, should I decide to wash my car or not, I'm up for another trip south to Silang, Cavite with my church friend, Ayessa, to "kidnap" Sharon who we haven't hung out with for the longest time. We plan to have coffee in Tagaytay after a dinner at their house. That's 80 kilometers of driving for you.
So, do I bother to wash my car or pray for just really strong rain to whiz by? Why don't we have any drive-through car wash services around here? Maybe I'll settle for having my windshield washed when I gas up before the trip. It always gives the illusion that the rest of my car is clean.
