Today was a full, fun day in the sun!
Brad picked me up at 930am then we parked at the Melbourne Exhibition Center. There we took the free tram to Albert Park, directly to Gate 1.
We checked out our seats first. We're on the Fangio grandstand, back of the grid, in front of the Jordan, Toyota and Minardi garages. From our seat we can see the last turn, the entrance of the pit lane and a big screen. :)
We then walked the whole place. Ang laki! Daming things to do like pit challenges, kainan and displays everywhere. There were races going on but we weren't paying much attention to them.
Lunch was in the shade of a tree by the lake. I made ham and cheese sandwiches. The KFC dinner from the night before became an omelete experiment. It turned out well naman. :D
When we went over the autograph stage tamang-tama, the renault team was there: Jarno Trulli, Fernando Alonso and their test driver (sorry, I forgot his name). They were signing stuff while being interviewed so pumila ako. Pero di ako umabot.
Buti nalang, while we were walking, nakasalubong namin si Bernie Eclestone (pardon the spelling). And I got his autograph!!! Kasing-height ko lang pala siya, the top man in charge of F1. I got the signatures of 2 other F1 executives but I don't know who they are. Will augment this post as soon as I find out. :)
After that we headed back to the city to check out the Melbourne Motor Show. Ate and Noel got a $5 discount from the back of their recipt from Safeway. Galeng no? Inside, we looked at all the cars and sat inside the really cute ones.
There was a rally simulator so Brad and I tried it out. I lost so on the way back home we passed by a gas station and I bought us some slurpees. :D
Ang saya. Tomorrow uli. I'll meet up with Liza, Brad's sis at our seat. The F1 cars will come out na tomorrow for the practice sessions. I hope to get more photos and catch more of the drivers din. :D
